Project Overview
New Consolidated Campus
Pioneers Pre-K-to-K Facilities
The new Early Childhood Education Center at the Palm Campus consolidates all of Lemon Grove’s Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten and Pre-K programming in an innovative central learning complex. A design-build partnership between AMS, LGUSD, PBK Architects and CORE Construction, the ECEC promotes indoor-outdoor learning in a secure residential-type village designed to foster a sense of community. Eight GEN7 modular buildings—each with two classrooms, workroom and restrooms—create “neighborhoods” for Pre-K, TK and Kindergarten students, sited around a circulation path that connects outdoor play and learning spaces. A 2,400-SF GEN7/AMS admin building is the “front door” of the campus– an inviting entryway into the ECEC, which also includes a 1,440-SF modular library building.
- 16 classrooms with workrooms support a variety of teaching styles
- Large low-E view windows and skylights fill classrooms with natural light
- High-ceilinged admin and library buildings are a unique GEN7/AMS design
